Martina’s interactive concerts are tailor-made for teaching German as a foreign language in primary schools – the children sing about their everyday activities at school, the days of the week, months, seasons, numbers, parts of the body, food, animals and what they do in their free time – all topics which are relevant to the primary curriculum. But singing about these things is so much more fun than just talking about them!
Interactive MFL song programme for primary level (5-12 years)
In Martina’s concerts, the children have plenty of opportunities to act, move and dance as well as sing their hearts out. They learn new vocabulary and practice what they already know whilst being entertained and engaged.
Martina will visit your school or venue of choice to give an interactive concert for up to 100 children. She opens her sessions with her call & response greeting song and in no time the children join in. She then surprises them with her accordion which she plays to the children’s delight to accompany her songs. The repertoire will be adapted to the age group. Concerts are designed to last for approximately an hour but can be slightly shorter for younger age groups. Finishing her session on a personal note by mentioning the children’s names in her Good Bye song and rounding it all up with questions and answers leaves the children with a real live experience in German.
These concerts are equally suitable as an introduction for children with no former knowledge of German and would be an ideal contribution to any cultural, language and music celebrating event, for example, European Language Day.
Although Martina’s songs have so far only been published for German as a foreign language, she can visit your school with a similar interactive musical language programme for French or English as a foreign language.
Martina will need a microphone setup for large groups.
